Prep is most of the job

Furniture gets moved to the center and covered. Floors get canvas drop cloths, not plastic. Switch plates, vent covers and door hardware come off — we do not cut around them. Holes, dents and nail pops are filled, sanded and spot-primed before a single finish coat goes on.

Two coats, cut in by hand

Ceiling first, then walls, then trim — the order that keeps lines crisp. Edges are cut in by hand with a brush; we do not rely on tape to hide a wobbly line. Two full finish coats are standard, and dark colors or a big color change get the primer they need instead of a third coat of hope.

Worth a look before you commit to anyone.

You get your house back every evening

Tools are collected, debris is bagged and hauled out, and walk paths are cleared before we leave. On occupied homes we work room by room so your kitchen and bedrooms stay usable.

What it costs

Anybody who gives you a price for interior painting over the phone, sight unseen, is guessing — and the guess is usually low so they can raise it later. The three things that actually move the number are the size of the job, the condition of what is already there, and how much repair work is hiding under the surface.

So we come look. The visit is free, it takes about thirty minutes, and you get an itemized written estimate with a fixed price you can hold us to. If a comparison quote comes in lower, bring it to us — we will tell you honestly what is missing from it.

Thirty minutes on site is all it takes to give you a fixed number.

Questions

Interior Painting — common questions

How long does it take to paint the interior of a house?

A single room is usually one day. A typical 3–4 bedroom Northborough colonial — walls, ceilings and trim throughout — runs about one to two weeks depending on how much trim and repair work is involved. Your written estimate includes the schedule.

Do I have to move out while you paint?

No. We work room by room and keep your kitchen, bathrooms and at least one bedroom in service. Low-VOC paints keep the smell down to almost nothing by evening.

Do you repair the walls before painting?

Yes. Patching nail pops, dents, hairline cracks and small drywall damage is part of a standard interior job, not an add-on. Larger repairs — a failed ceiling, water damage, missing drywall — are itemized on the estimate so you see exactly what they cost.

Still have a question? Ask it on the phone — you will get a straight answer.
